A Civics Lesson and a Sermon

Good morning.  My remarks this morning are part civics lesson, part sermon.

This is the first time we are coming together as a community since the election of 2016 was decided.  And given how divided this year’s election was, I considered calling a special …

"Thank You For Your Service"

Last weekend, the Class of 2015 concluded their Austin Prep years with a wonderful Baccalaureate Mass and an inspiring graduation ceremony.  As you may know, the Board of Trustees conferred an honorary diploma on Sgt. Richard “Dic” Donohue, the transit police officer who was …

Living Austin Prep's Mission

On Wednesday of last week, I returned from a trip to Walt Disney World with seniors in the Class of 2015 who traveled there for their capstone class trip. It was a privilege for me to spend five days with them as I watched the Austin Prep mission unfold.

Beginning in the predawn hours …

State of the School

In a matter of hours, the original bleachers that hosted spectators on Father Seymour Field for decades were demolished in early January.  The renovation of our track and field facilities and the construction of a new amenities building in the stadium represent another milestone for Austin Prep…
