Director of Facilities and Operations

POSITION  Director of Facilities and Operations - Year-Round (full time) 

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 20 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Facilities and Operations beginning immediately. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is a Catholic independent co-ed school serving students in grades 6-12.  Austin Prep has a talented faculty of approximately 75 that administers a challenging curriculum that prepares students well for success in high school and college. 

Austin Prep seeks a responsible, proactive Director of Facilities and Operations to manage the upkeep of buildings and grounds, and to support the number of projects associated with our progress on the Austin Prep Campus. The successful candidate will be a proactive, organized, hands-on department leader who has an established appreciation for aesthetics, solid experience in managing staff and vendor relationships and a keen awareness for responsibly providing a safe and functional campus for students, faculty, staff and the wider Austin Prep community. Construction and/or engineering experience is a plus. A competitive salary will be offered based upon experience.

Communications Fellow

POSITION - Communications Fellow (Part Time, 6 months)

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Communications Fellow. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-educational Catholic day school rooted in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12.  There are 750 students enrolled in the school. The Communications Fellow is responsible for supporting all enrollment and communication initiatives and daily operations of the Office of External Affairs.

Qualification Requirements:

  • The position is open to current Juniors or Seniors that are working towards a 4 year degree at a local college or university

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are working towards a 4 year degree in communications, marketing, or journalism and have experience with Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment is a must

  • A positive can-do attitude, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential in this role

COMMUNICATIONS FELLOW

The Communications Fellow reports to the Assistant Headmaster for External Affairs and is responsible for supporting the Office of External Affairs in all enrollment and communication initiatives, which are aligned with the best practices of the industry. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

1. To support the Director of Admissions with appropriate admissions and marketing materials, mailings and publications.

2. To support the Office of Admissions and Communications with day-to-day operations which include; but are not limited to, admission bi-monthly newsletters, the Cougar Courier, all social media accounts, advertorials and publications for open houses, parents committee events, and new parent socials.

3. To support the Director(s) of Admissions and Communications in increasing the virtual footprint of Austin Prep through website redesign, search engine optimization, and an added social media presence.

4. To support the school and its leadership in advancing the mission of Austin Prep.

5. To perform other duties as assigned by the Headmaster and Assistant Headmaster for External Affairs.


Director of Annual Giving

POSITION – Director of Annual Giving -  Year-Round (full time) 

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Annual Giving. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-ed Catholic school in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12. There are 740 students enrolled in the school. The Director of Annual Giving reports to the Assistant Headmaster for External Affairs and is responsible for the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the areas of development and donor relations. S/he provides strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning for all these areas in the context of growing the annual giving program while supporting the greater development and campaign goals of the school. 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of experience in development and fundraising education, preferably in independent schools
  • Excellent skill and understanding of computer and constituent software required.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Flexible and willing to work evenings and/or weekends as required.

Director of Alumni Relations and Giving

POSITION - Director of Alumni Relations and Giving - Year-Round (full time)

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Alumni Relations and Giving.    Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-ed Catholic school in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12.  There are 700+ students enrolled in the school.  The Director of Alumni Relations and Giving reports to the Assistant Headmaster of External Affairs and is responsible for keeping alumni and alumni families informed, engaged, and committed to the school and its financial support. S/he provides leadership for alumni programming, including fundraising, relationship building, program development, volunteer management, and actively involving alumni in the school community. 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of experience in development and/or alumni relations and fundraising education, preferably in independent schools
  • Comfort with software programs, social media, and other technology
  • High-energy and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere
  • Flexible and willing to work some evenings and/or weekends

Per Diem substitute teachers

Responsibilities include monitoring four 75-minute classes per day: take attendance, direct students’ completion of assignments left for them, maintain an atmosphere conducive to quiet individual or small group study as prescribed in the assignment, supervise students at special events during the school day such as Masses, pep rallies, or assemblies.
