Student Publications

Students work diligently throughout the school year to share their news, opinions and creativity with the Austin community through several avenues, all of which are available in digital formats. We hope you enjoy our publications, which give you a glimpse into student life.

The Legend, The Lens, The Pulse

Produced since the 1960's, Austin's student newspaper The Legend has now moved online. The digital newspaper is part of APS Media, Austin's student media team, and viewable alongside video and audio content on www.apsmedia.org. Through The Legend, students learn multimedia journalism and publish a wide variety of stories, with content covering school events, sports, national events, and other student interests. All grades and experience levels are welcome to produce content for the club. For more information contact Mr. Taylor at rtaylor@austinprep.org.

A list of articles can be found at: http://apsmedia.org/.

The Austin Magazine

Our student magazine encourages and promotes creativity through a variety of mediums - visual artwork, poetry, short stories, essays and book reviews. Contributions from student artists, photographers and graphic designers are included. It is published once per academic year in the spring and students in grades 9 through 12 may participate. The moderator is Mr. Tim Lane, English faculty.

The Middle School Magazine

Our middle-schoolers (grades 6 through 8) have their own publication dedicated to visual artwork, poetry, short stories, essays – whatever is on their minds. It is published once per academic year in the spring. The moderator is Mr. Tim Lane, English faculty.
