Austin Prep Memorial Scholarship Breakfast Honors Legacy and Celebrates Achievement

Austin Prep Memorial Scholarship Breakfast Honors Legacy and Celebrates Achievement

Gratitude and generosity defined the annual Memorial Scholarship Breakfast held on Thursday, February 12, as students, families, and benefactors gathered to celebrate achievement and legacy within the Austin Prep community.

In his opening remarks, James Hickey, Ph.D., Head of School, reminded students that scholarships represent something far greater than financial assistance. They are a reflection of belief, generosity, and the enduring impact of those who invested in Austin Prep long before today’s students ever arrived on campus. His message centered on mindfulness, gratitude, and the responsibility to recognize the opportunities made possible by others.

As he reflected on the spirit behind memorial scholarships, Dr. Hickey offered a message that resonated deeply:

“You are the beneficiary of someone else’s gratitude, of someone else’s goodness.”

Fr. Patrick Armano, School Chaplain, led the community in prayer, offering thanks for the benefactors whose generosity sustains the program and for the students whose efforts made them worthy recipients.

This year, over 125 students applied for memorial scholarships, making each recognition especially meaningful.
