Austin Prep Undergoes NEASC Accreditation

You may recall from earlier communications that Austin Prep was preparing to undergo an accreditation process with the New England Association of Colleges and Schools (NEASC). Accreditation is a process of growth and self-evaluation that schools use to voluntarily demonstrate that they are meeting or exceeding accepted standards of excellence in the profession of education. Using the accreditation framework of NEASC’s Commission on Independent Schools, Austin Prep faculty and staff completed a process of self-evaluation over two years.

NEASC’s Accreditation Committee, comprised of educators from independent schools in this region, visited Austin Prep October 16-19, 2022. I’m pleased to share that the Committee voted unanimously to support Austin Prep's continued accreditation without any stipulations, the best possible outcome. (Schools can have their accreditation renewed with caveats). In a few weeks, I’ll receive a final report and look forward to sharing some additional insights about this very successful process, but I am grateful for all those in our community for their hard work throughout the accreditation process.
