Austin Prep is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th to October 15th. During this time, we will recognize the contributions, achievements and influence of Hispanic Americans on the history and culture of the United States. This month is significant as it includes the date of independence for many Hispanic countries.
The Mariachi Guadalajara band graced all four lunch periods on Monday, September 16th to kick off the Month, filling the Dining Hall with lively traditional music. Students enjoyed the festive atmosphere while savoring the cuisine of SAGE Dining Services celebration of Mexican Independence Day. The talented musicians performed classic mariachi tunes and took requests from students as they played on instruments like the violin, trumpet, guitarrón, and vihuela. You can view photos from the lunch here and video here.
