Austin Prep Says Goodbye to Five Legendary Figures

Austin Prep Says Goodbye to Five Legendary Figures

As the year came to a close, we said goodbye to five legendary figures in the Austin Prep community. The 2019-2020 academic year marked the final year at Austin Prep for Mr. Bill Maradei, P'11, '12, Mr. Gary Mackiewicz, Mr. Bob Hennessy, Mrs. Maureen DiPerna P'08, and Mrs. Teresa Wallace P'93, '96, who are retiring with a collective 171 years of service to Austin Prep.  For us to be able to honor five retirees with such distinguished service is humbling and we are grateful.

We look forward to honoring these five legacies with a campus celebration as soon as we have the ability to do so in a manner that will allow us to gather family, friends, former students and colleagues in an acknowledgement fitting for their service. In the meantime, for those who have inquired into sending gifts to Austin Prep in their honor, in lieu of sending personal gifts to the school, donations may be made to the Austin Scholars Program, formally known as the Inner City Scholarship Fund.  Through your support, this fund is used to help provide scholarships to deserving inner-city students who otherwise would not be able to experience the Austin Prep journey.
