Austin Prep Welcomes Sister Tracey Matthia Dugas, F.S.P. as St. Augustine Lecturer

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Austin Prep welcomed Sister Tracey Matthia Dugas, F.S.P. to campus as the St. Augustine Lecturer.

The Lecture Series began in 2015 and is considered one of the signature events to enrich the intellectual life of Austin Prep by introducing students to accomplished individuals who share their lived experiences and life lessons.

Known as a “media nun,” Sister Tracey is a Daughter of St. Paul, an international community of women religious who preach the Gospel through all forms of media. Originally from Louisiana, Sister Tracey earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, LA. She is currently stationed in Boston where she serves as Director of Pauline Mission Advancement. You can learn more about Sister Tracey here.

The basis of Sister Tracey’s lecture was the year’s school theme from the Book of Psalms (7:8): “Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to the integrity that is in me.” Through this theme, Sister Tracey focused her remarks and advice on the inseparable connection of integrity to veritas, unitas, and caritas. Ultimately, personifying Augustinian virtues of truth, unity, and love in our lives is about integrity.
