Fr. Smith Library & Media Center
The Fr. Arthur F. Smith, O.S.A. Library and Media Center is home to more than 42,000 books for use by students and faculty.
iMac computers are available for student use and iOS charging stations are in place for iPad users. Quiet study areas as well as collaborative spaces are popular destinations within the library which is on two levels.
Open every school day from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, the library serves students and faculty before, during, and after school. Whether students are collaborating on a group project, researching their next writing assignment, or just looking for a comfortable chair to sit and read, the library is a center of academic life at Austin Prep.
A MakerSpace is housed within the Library, with a complement of 3D printers, a laser printer, electronic circuitry, and microprocessors. Students use design tools and software in an iterative process to create objects and artifacts that increase their learning across the curriculum.
The Department of Technology staff is also located within the library so that tech support and assistance is conveniently available.
