When I started at Austin Prep in sixth grade I had no idea how much the Austin Prep Community would end up meaning to me. As a member of the Girls Varsity Volleyball program, Best Buddies, and a Cubby Cares Mentor, I have had countless opportunities to get involved in the community. Some of my favorite community events include going to support fellow student-athletes at games and spirt weeks because the entire students get so involved. Through my years at Austin Prep, the most important skill I have gained is self advocacy. Any time I have a question about an assignment or a grade, I am always encouraged to talk to the teacher, and then given the tools I needed to further succeed. I am beyond grateful to be able to go to a school that gives me these opportunities and skills to take with me when my Austin Prep journey comes to an end.

When I walked in through the front doors of Austin Prep for the first time at the start of my freshman year, I was met with so much support and kindness by teachers, students, and faculty members . At Austin Prep, I am involved with Varsity Ice Hockey, APS Media Club, Chemistry and Math Peer Tutors, DECA and Cubby Cares. Fun fact: my twin brother and I run a show called Mid-Week Update through APS Media.

My experience at Austin Prep has been nothing but special. With my older brother being here for my first two years, he has taught me what it means to be a true leader. Being apart of athletics and clubs have taught me many other lessons. Since joining the Austin Prep community in my freshman year, I have gained many friends who have pushed me to be the best version of myself. The lessons I have learned and the role models I have followed at Austin will only help me and all of my future endeavors. With that I am thankful for all Austin Prep has given and I am grateful that I attend such an amazing school.

Every student, teacher, and staff member at Austin Prep can attest to the value of unitas in our school: community. The Austin Prep community wants to see growth and success in every person and we are surrounded by resources to help us. I have been a member of this community since sixth grade and am involved in the Austin Prep Dance Program, participating in the Nutcracker and Spring Show each year. I am so fortunate to be a “lifer” at this school and to fulfill my responsibilities as a part of this community.

Austin Prep students come from all different types of backgrounds and hometowns. But what helped me -- and many other students -- adjust was the sense of community. Austin Prep has provided so many different academic opportunities for me throughout my years. Many of the connections and friendships I have made at AP will last for a lifetime and I always know I have someone to go to about any problem, whether it be trusted adult or friend. There is always someone to help along your journey. Personally, I couldn't ask for anything more from a school, as they have provided a safe space for someone like me to grow into my own self and discover who I am. As I prepare for the future, I know I have been provided great stepping stones to reach my goals.

Since coming to Austin Prep freshman year, I have felt nothing but the utmost support from faculty and peers. I did not know many other students when I came to Austin, but the profound sense of community fostered some of the best friendships I have ever had. The numerous opportunities Austin Prep provides have allowed me to discover myself academically, athletically, and personally. Being a part of the Varsity Tennis team, Soccer team, Youth Climate Action Coalition, Service club, and B.O.L.D (women empowerment club) has allowed me to explore my interests and further my passions greatly. I am extremely grateful to be part of the Austin Prep community as it has helped me become the person I am today. Every experience at Austin has taught me something that I can carry through the rest of my life like perseverance, hard work, determination, confidence, ambition, and morale. An Austin Prep education is not just an academic experience but a holistic development of each student. I am incredibly lucky to grow up with an Austin Prep education and will forever be grateful for my years at Austin.

The day I stepped on campus for the first time, I just had that gut feeling that I was meant to be here. I was right. I've grown so much with the help of my peers, coaches, and all the staff I've gotten the privilege to learn from. Everyone just greeted me with such a warm welcome and I instantly fit in like a piece of a puzzle. Not only was I welcomed into the community, but I was also given so many opportunities to flourish. I have participated in Winter Track, Football, Movie Club, New England Club, D.E.C.A, Math Peer Tutors, Cubby Cares, C.A.T, NHS, and even Robotics. The amount of options were endless and I chose to make the most of that. I have even learned the sense of community which I think is Austin's most prominent quality. My favorite community events are going to sports games and community meetings because I get to see so many new faces and members of my community. Austin Prep has taught me to be my best version of a leader, a friend, a student, and an athlete.

Starting as a freshman at Austin Prep, I've had the opportunity to learn and grow as an individual. Throughout my experience, I've had teachers and coaches who all supported me through my academics, athletics, and other endeavors. My time here at Austin Prep has allowed me to be exposed to many opportunities such as starting programs including the Field Hockey team, Business Club, and starting a new chapter through the National Art Society. As the School-Wide President, I also have been able to create more relationships with both faculty, staff, and classmates which has allowed me to become closer with the school community itself. Austin Prep is an amazing place for students to grow and learn.

As a student at Austin Prep, I have consistently been met by an overwhelming sense of community and support. The teachers, students, and staff at this school all have one goal in common, for each other to succeed. Because of this, Austin Prep has given me so many opportunities like participating in the Girl’s Varsity Dance Team, the Best Buddies Club, the B.O.L.D. Female Empowerment Club, Youth Climate Action Coalition, Spanish Peer Tutors, and my most favorite, writing for the student-run newspaper that I founded, ‘The Legend’. Without the encouragement and aid from my teachers, none of this would have been possible, especially creating the newspaper’. At Austin Prep, students make strong connections with the faculty, which is something that cannot be found at many other schools. The resources this school provides are unparalleled and I am unceasingly grateful to be a student here.

My time at Austin Prep has been one of the greatest experiences I have ever lived. Ever since coming to AP as an 8th grader to now as a senior, my journey has been nothing but positive and I cannot ask for anything more. Austin Prep not only showed me what it means to be a good, conscientious student, but it showed me what it means to be a student of Austin Prep, one who is constantly surrounded by the school's core values by all members of the community. I truly believe that my academic abilities and core values, enlightened by Austin Prep, will serve me well in the next years of college and beyond.

I walked into Austin Prep to go to class for the first time my freshman year without knowing more than two people in my grade. I was happy to notice that the community does everything they can to make you feel welcomed. Making friends was an easier process because of this. The faculty do everything they can to make sure you reach your highest potential with your academics, while also building strong connections to their students. My favorite experiences I've had are being a part of athletic teams, which I will never forget, being a Head Green Key Ambassador, being a writing tutor for younger students, and class trips. The Austin Prep community has prepared me for my future after high school and I am forever grateful that I made the decision to enroll here.

My Austin Prep Journey has been very special to me ever since arriving in the sixth grade. I found my footing right away in a new school because of all the resources Austin provides for incoming students. Now that I am a senior, I have become very close with my peers and faculty members who encourage me to do what I love every day. One of my favorite programs that Austin Prep has to offer is our Advisory Program, where ten students from middle school or high school are paired with a faculty member to be your close contact in school for anything. I was lucky enough to have two very special advisors over my seven years at Austin Prep who have guided me throughout my Austin Journey. I am also apart of the Dance Program and have performed in our annual Nutcracker for the past seven years, even though I came to Austin with no previous dance experience. With the encouragement from my peers and dedication from Mrs. Pascucci-Byrne, I was able to find my passion for dance though this program. Even though I only have one year left at AP, I will be forever grateful for all the memories I have made over the years and for the relationships I have formed with my peers that will last me forever.

My experience at Austin Prep has been an incredibly rewarding journey since the start of my freshman year. With the support of caring staff and encouragement from my peers, I have really grown into an involved and integral member of the Austin Prep community. One of my favorite experiences at Austin has been participating in the Nutcracker and Spring Show through the dance program. This program has given me some of my closest friends and allowed me to grow as a dancer. Additionally, I have cherished being the president of our Best Buddies Club, a co-president of our Creative Writing Club, and a Head Green Key Ambassador. Austin Prep is a truly special community that I am proud to be a part of. I know my decision to attend Austin freshman year will forever have a major impact on me and prepare me for my next steps in life.

The very first time I walked into Austin Prep, I did not know what to expect. It was two weeks before applications were due. My first interaction with the Austin Prep community was more than welcoming, in which I met Mr. Diapella– arguably my favorite English teacher. Mr. Diapella, along with Mr. Piccini, are prime examples of the type of teachers that guide students to success on their Austin Prep journey. The student I am today was shaped by the influential figures that walk the halls of AP. The student body with diverse interests provides an outlet for everyone to make their mark on Austin. Three years later, I look back at the day I decided to apply to AP and all I can say is that I am grateful for the opportunities Austin Prep has given me.
