Austin Prep Presents 2020–21 Series Concludes June 29
Our monthly series Austin Prep Presents will close out the 2020–2021 season on Tuesday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. with Sharon Driscoll Klardie ’96, senior manager, Salesforce Labs at Salesforce, and an “#IAmRemarkable Empowerment Workshop.”
#IAmRemarkable is a 90-minute workshop created by Google that empowers women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond. In this interactive course, participants engage in group discussions and exercises focused on self-promotion and unconscious bias.
Dr. Abbey Denaro '05 Serves as Keynote Speaker for the 2021 National Honor Society Induction
Dr. Abbey Denaro '05, center, was the keynote speaker during April's National Honor Society induction. She is pictured with NHS officers Ariana Clark '21, Emma Kilbride '21, Kate Simpson '21, and Emily Pessina '21.
On April 15, Dr. Abbey Denaro '05 spoke to 48 students inducted into the National Honor Society in the Chapel of St. Augustine. The ceremony was livestreamed for families of the inductees.
"A National Honor Society member, Dr. Denaro has also been inducted into the National Leadership Honor Society and the National Chiropractic Honor Society. She credits her experiences at Austin Prep as a tremendous launching pad for her extended studies and career success in the chiropractic field."
"So I challenge you tonight... And I don’t care what it is—it doesn’t have to be anything exceptionally noteworthy, like winning the Nobel Peace Prize..." Denaro said.
"Our world is on the brink of some major changes... We need the people who are going to make those changes."
Choosing to Become a Legacy Family
Class of 2021 Legacy Families.
We frequently hear from alumni that Austin Prep prepared them for life beyond campus. We recently reached out to alumni families who are now parents and grandparents of current students to hear how their journey has come full circle.
“I had a fantastic experience at Austin Prep... It’s an honor for me and my wife to provide the same opportunity for our kids.” ~ Jerry Caruso ’90, P’20, ’22
Day of Giving Total Continues to Rise
Matching gift programs help increase the impact of your donation
Marvin Twombley '21 and Georgia Poulakis '21 were busy during the livestream telethon event for Day of Giving.
The Austin Prep community contributed over $196,000 during our annual Day of Giving to support the Annual Fund. This year’s generosity will have an incredible impact as we continue to support COVID-19 relief initiatives.
Since April 14, our giving total has continued to rise in part due to employer matching gift programs. Explore matching gift opportunities on our Annual Fund page.
If you missed our Day of Giving, you can still participate. Our goal is to raise $300,000 by the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
