Dr. Abbey Denaro '05 of Denaro Chiropractic will addresses how families can help combat stress by implementing daily stretching, working on posture habits, and when necessary, checking in with a doctor (specifically a chiropractor) to help with designing a program that will help our families work through these difficult times with as little stress as possible. Dr. Denaro specializes in prenatal and pediatric care. Dr. Denaro has been awarded as a Leading Physician of the World, Top Chiropractor in Massachusetts and has been repeatedly recognized as #1 Chiropractor in North Reading.

On November 26th, alumni Alex Sherr ’03 and Dan Sherr ’05 presented on the Basics of Financial Planning. This one-hour webinar focused on how to get started with personal financial planning including setting your goals, how to gather your financial information, and creating a path toward your goals. A second presentation will take place in February to follow-up on the planning process. 

Bob will share his journey of taking the Augustinian values of Veritas, Unitas and Caritas onto the golf course with his time spent growing the game of youth and family golf with the PGA of America, creating opportunities for underserved populations across the world to learn to play the game, helping non-profits use golf as a tool to fundraise and create an emotional connection to mission. Joining Bob will be his good friend and colleague Emanual Kasio, founder of Golf for Kids Kenya, who uses golf as a teaching tool to instill in children life skills to grow into good participating citizens of the world. Patrick Driscoll '97, Director of Athletics and Summer Programs will host Bob and Emanuel for this educational and entertaining webinar.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Now, more than ever, we must come together to support one another, break the stigma of mental health, and raise awareness of those living with mental illness.

Andrew Kiezulas '99 is celebrating nine years of sobriety. His extensive advocacy and substance use prevention work with people of all ages, particularly young people, is elevated by his own personal experience. Andrew is founder of the Young People in Recovery (YPR)- Portland, ME Chapter. He has presented on a local and national level at The Science of Recovery Conference, the YPR National Leadership Conference, and throughout high schools in the northeast.

With the help of Health and Wellness Counselors Jessica Lenci and  Nick Reynolds, Andrew will navigate what the road to recovery looks like for active substance use disorder (SUD) as it relates to strength based solutions to processing trauma and finding recovery.

As Coach Maradei P'11, '12 would often say when Andrew played football for him, "Education is power. Education is what? Power." Andrew will define concepts including trauma, substance use disorder, and recovery and will show how SAMHSA's (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services) 8 dimensions of Wellness can serve as a framework for education and support.

On Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Evan Guarino '06 will be hosted by Ashley Murdock '21 and Alyssa Cross '21 on the "Art of Taking Better Photos".

Cameras have never been more accessible. So, let’s talk about how we can use what we already have to take better photos. APS Media co-chairs Alyssa Cross '21 and Ashley Murdock '21 will host Alum Evan Guarino '06 as we cover all-things-photography in this one-hour webinar. From determining the landscape or portrait orientation of your subject to what photos to post on Instagram, Evan, Ashley and Alyssa will take the audience step by step through the process of capturing the best photos possible.

On Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., Sheetal and Hillary will share their professional and personal experience with the “Sandwich/Panini Generation,” or those of us who have a parent over 65 and are raising children under the age of 18. Some of the topics we hope to cover include child and elder medical services, aiding in financial and legal matters, and the many emotional difficulties that come with balancing everyone’s needs, including our own.
