Anniversary Golf Tournament Raises $65,000

The 30th Annual Austin Open Golf Tournament was an overwhelming success, raising $65,000 - the highest in a number of years. Thank you to all our golfers, sponsors, auction item donors, and raffle prize donors!

The chilly weather did not keep golfers away - after checking in, enjoying lunch and hitting a few practice balls, the sold-out afternoon flight kicked off at 12:00 noon at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover, MA.

Our dinner-only guests joined the festivities at 5:00 pm for the cocktail hour, followed by a buffet dinner, and everyone took part in our raffles, silent and live auctions.

Proceeds from the event are supporting the transformation of the David Nelson '81 Weight Room into the David Nelson '81 Fitness Center (located in Meelia Hall). Michael Joyce ’18 thanked participants for their support and explained how important the renovated fitness center will be not only to student-athletes, but to the entire Austin Prep community, when it comes to achieving health and fitness goals.

The day would not have been a success without the efforts of Austin Open Golf Committee Chair Becky McKie P’16, P’17, and committee members Steve Reddy P’16, P’18 and Andy Tucker P’19 and the support of the Austin Prep administration and staff. We are also grateful to our volunteers, including students Joshua Bartnicki ’18, Logan Bravo ’18, Will Hamilton ’18, Nick Hampoian ’18, Michael Joyce ’18, Mitchell Kennedy ’18, Shane McKie ’17, and Liam O’Donnell ’18; parents Julie Bonavita P’21, Mike and Carol Ciccarelli P’15, P’18, Karen Goscinak P’20, Jessica Hampoian P’18, P’20, Pamela Jenks ’20, and Maria Mangano P’17, P’20; and alumni Drew Gerety ’16, and Alicia Green ’17.
