In June, Mr. Christopher Ayers, Foreign Language Faculty, accompanied Olivia Venuto, Aingea Venuto, Emily Happeny, Anastasia Mastrocola, and Stephanie Gratiano to Greece for a cultural trip. The group explored all of the country's magnificent wonders, from the ancient to the modern. Below is their travel blog. Enjoy!
From left, our group of Olivia Venuto, Aingea Venuto, Emily Happeny, Anastasia Mastrocola, and Stephanie Gratiano is overlooking Arachova before reaching the famous Delphi and its ancient oracle. Despite the 100-degree weather, we climbed to the summit of the site to see the stadium where the Pythian Games were played – that’s 11,000-plus steps today, mostly uphill! For lunch we sampled saganaki (fried cheese), souvlaki (grilled meat kabobs), and some of the best dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with spiced meat & rice) of our trip.
