In June, Mr. Christopher Ayers, Foreign Language Faculty, accompanied Olivia Venuto, Aingea Venuto, Emily Happeny, Anastasia Mastrocola, and Stephanie Gratiano to Greece for a cultural trip. The group explored all of the country's magnificent wonders, from the ancient to the modern. Below is their travel blog. Enjoy!
After the cruise, our next stop was the famous Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion. Its columns still have graffiti carved into them from famous Europeans, including Lord Byron from the early 1800s. The strong winds threatened to blow us into the Aegean Sea! According to the myth, when Theseus forgot to raise the victory sails after returning from Crete, his father King Aegeus threw himself from these cliffs into the sea, which was named the Aegean thereafter.
