A Letter to our Interntational Families
August 2, 2018
Dear Parents of our Students from China,
In just a few short weeks we will be welcoming your children to campus which excites all of us at Austin Preparatory School. I am sure there is enthusiasm coupled with some nerves in anticipation of travel and new experiences. These feelings are normal for anyone beginning a new adventure.
Recently, there has been much dialogue in the news about the geopolitical and economic relationship between the United States and China. Although there may be some unrest in trade between our two nations, I want to assure you that whatever unrest may exist will have no impact on the care, love, and support that your children will experience at Austin Prep. They are welcome here and we will treat them as if they were our own children.
We remain committed to the tradition of St. Augustine, a tradition that is more than 1,600 years old. We promote the values of St. Augustine’s followers, the Augustinian Friars. Those values -- truth, unity, and love -- are the foundation of Austin Prep’s mission to inspire hearts to unite, minds to inquire, and hands to serve. And we welcome your children to be a part of that journey.
Our entire community anticipates your children's arrival and eagerly awaits the opportunity to share in their new adventures. You and your children are members of the Austin Prep family. As the Headmaster of Austin Prep and the parent of four children, please accept my assurance that the health, welfare, and safety of your children -- and every child at Austin Prep -- is my number one priority.
St. Augustine loved community and as a school that walks in his footsteps, community is central to everything we do. As a community, we will continue to prepare Austin Prep students to be responsible global citizens that have respect for all cultures and respect for differences of perspective and belief.
Should you have questions or concerns, please feel free to be in touch with me directly. We are partners in your children’s education and look forward to working with in the years ahead.
