Upper School Strategic Plan Underway

To complement the Middle School Strategic Plan we launched a few years ago, we crafted an Upper School Strategic Plan that will be launched this September.  Like the Middle School plan, this strategic plan was designed to advance Upper School programs and initiate new goals and strategies to keep Austin Prep moving on a pathway of renewal and excellence.  The Upper School Strategic Plan will focus on modernizing curricula and expanding value-added teaching and learning opportunities.

Formulated over the last year by a faculty steering committee, the Upper School Strategic Plan includes foundation documents centered on student advising, the profile of the Austin Prep graduate, and standards for teaching excellence.  Lastly, the strategic plan will expand opportunities for faculty professional development and teacher evaluation systems to advance teaching excellence.

Many of the new courses we launched this year – or piloted last year – were the outgrowth of the strategic plan.  The implementation of this plan, in conjunction with the Middle School Strategic Plan, will be an ongoing process, not an event.  The Division Heads – Sean Brennan and Michael McLaughlin – will shepherd the progression of the strategic plans’ goals and ingenuities.  The final document will be available to the community very shortly and will be posted in the Parent Portal.
