Per Diem substitute teachers

Responsibilities include monitoring four 75-minute classes per day: take attendance, direct students’ completion of assignments left for them, maintain an atmosphere conducive to quiet individual or small group study as prescribed in the assignment, supervise students at special events during the school day such as Masses, pep rallies, or assemblies.

Director of Annual Giving

The Director of Annual Giving reports to the Assistant Headmaster of External Affairs and is responsible for the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the areas of development and donor relations.  S/he provides strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning for all these areas in the context of growing the annual giving program while supporting the greater development, and campaign goals of the school.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of experience in development and fundraising education, preferably in independent schools
  • Excellent skill and understanding of computer and constituent software required.
  •  Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Flexible and willing to work evenings and/or weekends as required.

Teaching and Learning Specialist

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Teaching and Learning Specialist. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-educational Catholic day school in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12.  There are 740 students enrolled in the school. The Teaching and Learning Specialist provides oversight of the cohort of students with documented learning differences. He/She will assure that the accommodations needed for those students are being met by the teachers, students, and parents of that cohort. Additionally, the Teaching and Learning Specialist will train the faculty - individually and as a whole - in best practices and in the implementation of specific accommodations.  This position supports central tenets of our mission: unitas and caritas, or, unity and love. The candidate is expected to also be involved in the extracurricular life of the school.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s or above preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working in a school setting.

Main Office Receptionist

Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Office Receptionist.  Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-ed Catholic school in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12. There are 745 students enrolled in the school.

The Office Receptionist will support the daily operation of the main office. We seek candidates who are self-starters, upbeat, outgoing, and have a positive can-do attitude.  Applicants must desire to be part of a community of learners that is student-centered. This position reports directly to the Dean of Students and requires professional judgment, discretion, and diplomacy.  

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work.

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Works independently with minimum supervision.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Qualifications/Education:

College degree preferred, but not required.
