Spring Break Health and Safety Plan

  1. Students are asked to familiarize themselves with the most current travel advisory of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

  2. Pursuant to the travel advisory, students are encouraged to quarantine for 10 days or produce a negative Covid-19 test prior to returning to campus in compliance with Massachusetts timeframes and guidelines.

  3. Students who are voluntarily quarantining due to travel may not attend classes remotely during the quarantine period.

  4. If you are voluntarily quarantining as a result of Spring Break travel, you may not participate in athletic or extracurricular activities during the quarantine period, and the quarantine will be considered a school absence.

  5. Families who plan to travel for Spring Break outside of Massachusetts may complete this form. Please direct any questions about travel to the Health Office.

  6. Decisions to utilize different operating models as needed will be made in consultation with the Town of Reading Department of Public Health, State of Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Austin Prep’s pandemic consultants, and Austin Prep’s Physician Advisory Board.  Public health data, scientific rationale, and public health advisories will inform decision making. Please be attentive to communications from the school indicating that changes are required.
