Spiritual Life
You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in You.

Faith and Community at Austin Prep
Faith, community, and reflection are at the heart of the Austin Prep experience. Through opportunities designed to deepen spiritual lives, students are invited to live out our core values of Veritas , Unitas, and Caritas in meaningful ways. Our Campus Ministry Office provides enriching experiences for students, faculty, and staff to grow in faith together, fostering a culture of servant leadership and shared purpose.
At Austin Prep, faith is not just a subject of study—it is a way of life. Rooted in the charism of St. Augustine, our community fosters an environment where students from diverse backgrounds come together to grow in wisdom and grace. Inspired by St. Augustine’s call to seek truth through faith and reason, students are encouraged to influence the world for the greater good—serving others "through the simple, everyday moments that shape our journey of faith." As part of this commitment, students participating in Adeodatus spend 15 minutes each day in the chapel, engaging in quiet reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth. Additionally, students have the opportunity to deepen their faith through Mass, retreats, and other spiritual experiences that foster a closer relationship with God and a greater sense of community.
As an Augustinian Catholic school, Austin Prep is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Founded in 1961, the school embraces the rich tradition of Augustinian education, emphasizing intellectual curiosity, personal reflection, and a commitment to serving others. Our students are called to embody the values of humility, compassion, and zeal, living out their faith in meaningful and transformative ways.
Religious studies are a central part of the Austin Prep experience, with all students in grades 6 through 12 engaging in theology courses each year. These classes offer topics that guide students through their faith journey, beginning with an exploration of Sacred Scripture, Christian discipleship, and life within the Church. As students progress, they delve into St. Augustine’s spiritual journey, Church history, and the significance of the Sacraments. Courses in Catholic morality and social teaching challenge students to apply their faith to contemporary ethical issues, while classes such as Teaching the Christian Message I and II prepare them to share and live out the Gospel. Opportunities for deeper reflection include Adeodatus, a program dedicated to daily chapel prayer, as well as advanced electives in Literature and Religion, Science and Religion, and Christian Leadership and Service. Each course is designed to cultivate a strong theological foundation, encouraging students to think critically, reflect personally, and live with faith and purpose.
Beyond the classroom, students are empowered to put their faith into action. Through campus ministry, service projects, retreats, and leadership roles, they deepen their spirituality while developing the skills and compassion needed to make a lasting impact on their communities. Throughout the year, the Austin Prep community gathers for prayer services, liturgies, and interfaith reflections—offering every student the opportunity to grow in faith and leadership.
By embracing our mission to inspire hearts, unite communities, and transform lives, Austin Prep students are prepared not only for academic success but also for a life of purpose, compassion, and service to others.
