Students work diligently throughout the school year to share their news, opinions, and creativity with the Austin Prep community through several avenues, all of which are available in digital formats.
We hope you enjoy our publications, which give you a glimpse into student life.
Produced since the 1960's, Austin's student newspaper The Legend has now moved online. Through The Legend, students learn multimedia journalism and publish a wide variety of stories, with content covering school events, sports, national events, and other student interests. All grades and experience levels are welcome to produce content for the club. Read The Legend.
Austin Prep's literary magazine, Tolle Lege, takes its name from the Latin phrase meaning “take and read,” drawn from the writings of St. Augustine. The phrase marks a defining moment in Augustine’s conversion, when he was called to open a text, read deeply, and allow words to shape his life. In that same spirit, Tolle Lege invites students to develop their talents in writing and the arts while elevating student voice across our school community.
Each issue features a wide range of student work, including flash fiction, poetry, digital and traditional art, photography, manifestos, short stories, and excerpts from longer works.

Willow 101 takes its name from Austin Prep’s address at 101 Willow Street in Reading, grounding the magazine firmly in the life and creativity of the campus. Produced by students in the Art and Design department Yearbook class, the online magazine is written, designed, and largely photographed by students. Published twice each year, Willow 101 showcases student perspectives through visual storytelling, design, and editorial work that reflects both individual expression and the shared experience of school life.
