Meet the Donors

Patrick Driscoll ’97 and his wife, Jessica, are connected to Austin Prep — not only as alumni but as educators, mentors, and supporters of the school’s mission to inspire hearts to unite, minds to inquire, and hands to serve.

Patrick’s connection to Austin Prep began long before his days as a student. Some of his earliest memories are of attending Austin Prep hockey games, watching the team and school community celebrate a State Championship — moments that sparked his love for the program and his pride in being part of something larger than himself. That passion grew into purpose when he began his coaching career at Austin Prep under then–Head Coach Louis Finocchiaro.

Jessica brought her own leadership to Austin Prep athletics by founding the school’s field hockey program, where she served as coach for six years. Together, the Driscolls have devoted themselves to fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and faith — helping student-athletes grow not just in sport, but in character.

The Inspiration to Give

 

Their decision to give back to Austin Prep comes from a place of gratitude.

“Catholic education has always been an important piece of our family,” Patrick shared. “If it wasn’t for the generosity of others and of the school, I wouldn’t have been able to attend. This is our way of saying thank you and ensuring that future generations have the same opportunities.”

Jessica added, “We are blessed. Giving back is something our dads instilled in us — to work hard, value education, and help provide for others when you can.”

The Driscolls’ gift was made in honor of their fathers, Mr. William Driscoll and Mr. Kenneth Gouin, whose legacies of love, perseverance, and faith continue to inspire them.

“We gave this gift in honor of our dads — two incredible men who have been strong influences in our lives,” Jessica said. “And both are lifelong Boston sports fans, especially hockey.”

Their decision to support the Austin Prep Boys Hockey Locker Room at the MPG Memorial Arena — known as Ristuccia Arena at the time — carries deep meaning. “Both our dads are huge Bruins fans,” Patrick shared. “And this locker room has such a history — it’s where the Bruins trained for years and prepared for their 2011 Stanley Cup Championship run. For us, it’s about Austin Prep providing the best for its student-athletes, while also honoring the place that connects so much of our personal history.”

Patrick added, “Both Ken and my dad taught Jess and me the importance of education — and that with hard work and determination, you can give back and make a difference for others.”

In November 2023, the locker room was formally dedicated with the inscription:
Austin Prep Boys Hockey Locker Room in honor of Mr. William Driscoll and Mr. Kenneth Gouin.
 

Why Giving Matters

For Jessica and Patrick, giving is an expression of gratitude, faith, and purpose.

“Austin Prep has always been a special place for our family,” Patrick said. “To be able to give back and help the school continue to grow — today, tomorrow, and for years to come — it’s something we feel responsible and blessed to do.”
