Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Donating appreciated securities can maximize your tax benefits. You avoid capital gains taxes on the increase in value and may claim a charitable deduction for the fair market value at the time of transfer. To ensure proper credit, please notify the Development Office before your transfer.

Tax-Free IRA Distributions
Your IRA can provide a tax-smart way to make an impact at Austin Prep today. Individuals aged 70½ or older may make gifts and pledge payments directly to Austin Prep from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), with a maximum of $100,000 per year.
The Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), sometimes called an “IRA Charitable Rollover,” is an excellent way to make a tax-free gift now to Austin Prep while also satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). These gifts count toward your annual RMD but are excluded from taxable income, providing a powerful opportunity to support students and programs in a meaningful way.

- Life Insurance: Name Austin Prep as a beneficiary of a new or existing policy and receive income or estate tax advantages.
- Bequests: Gifts through your will, whether in the form of cash, securities, or property, may be fully deductible for estate tax purposes.
Gifts of Real Estate
A gift of real estate may provide significant tax benefits while supporting long-term priorities at Austin Prep. The contribution value is typically based on the fair market value determined by a qualified appraisal.
